Public and private schools: social representations of teachers

ABSTRACT The objective of this research is to identify the social representations teachers about public and private schools. Questionnaires with closed open questions were applied 87 who work in formal education institutions metropolitan region São Paulo. Data analyzed support Descending Hierarchical Classification. results pointed representational elements regarding school lack commitment parents, imposition government support, resources investments, free education, teacher devaluation. Regarding school, these indicated existence institutional parental financial conditions, paid teaching learning, apostilled content knowledge for labor market. It hoped that discussions will contribute thinking effective educational policies both segments.
